I met this beautiful cow at a Gaushala just outside Jodphur in Rajasthan during my last visit in January 2020. She was so beautiful that I instantly knew I could transcribe the photo into a painting. This is a very ornate piece using sari patches and borders bought from the Kinari bazaar in Delhi.

This is definitely one of my favourite paintings. It feels like I transcribed a dream onto canvas with this piece and it definitely won't be last of its kind. The butterflies are very sheer fabric and have been cut out from a chiffon scarf and submerged into the painting. This gives the piece an extra layer of texture.
